Do you ever have those days when you just feel sad?

Maybe it’s for no particular reason.

Maybe it’s because your favorite pet died.

Maybe it’s because you are all out of mayonnaise.

I have those days too and I thought I’d share with you some rules/sayings/ideas that I have that usually make me feel better and maybe they will make YOU a bit happier too!  Try them out and see.

1.  People who collect thimbles will always cheer you up!  Find yourself a thimble collector and befriend them.   Better yet. MARRY ONE.  Go for it now!

a thimbly wonderful friend to have around.

2.  We all screw-up once in awhile.  Learn to accept that fact.  And like Billy Joel told us, “We’re only human. We’re supposed to make mistakes.” Don’t be so hard on yourself.  Also, never forget that someone who forgets your birthday or blows up your home planet deserves another chance to make good too.

See?

3.  Accept the fact that you can only do one thing at a time sometimes.  Focus on getting one thing done before moving on. Idle hands may be the Devil’s hands, but multiple hands means your mom had sex with an octopus.

Easy there, guy.

4. Be thankful for the life that you have.  Everyday is a gift and what you choose to do with the day is all up to you.  When you end the day, can you look back and say that I did something good in the world today?  Even if it was just something little like holding the door open for someone, telling someone you love them or even just stabbing man-eating lions in the head.  Try and do one good thingy today.

5.  Take old, classic rock songs and switch the lyrics around for a cheap and easy laugh.  It’s so fun and almost anyone can do it!  (I like to use clowns in a lot of my fake songs because clowns are sooo weird, right?  Below is the great song “Blackbird” which I completely ruined by having fun with by switching up and replacing the words )

Sad clown screaming in the dead of night

Take your real big shoes and let them shine

All your life

You were only waiting for the circus to arrive.

Fat clown screaming in the dead of night

Take your spooky, painted eyes what do you see?

All your life

You were only sad you couldn’t fit on the trapeze.

Sad clown laugh, sad clown laugh

Into the light of the dark black night…

SEE?!?  isn’t that just a hoot?!

Well, I hope these ideas and whatnot will get you through the rest of the work week.  Keep smilin’ out there.
